AI memory and the AI Vault

Why memory exists

Without memory the AI needs everything re-explained in every session. With it, Picrowd AI can keep facts such as “Northstar’s invoices go to Dana” or “this project uses stage names, not client names” and use them the next time they matter.

Where it lives

Your personal memory appears in the AI Vault, a system project that Settings → AI can show or hide in your sidebar. You can search, read, and delete its records, and use the advanced memory manager to edit the underlying memories. Picrowd also supports separate project and record memories with access checks. Ask the AI to remember something in plain words, or use the /memory command.

Keeping it healthy

• Memory health in Settings → AI shows how large and how tidy the memory is
• Optimize memory cloud merges overlapping facts and refreshes links between them; it also runs on its own periodically
• Compact memory rebuilds the fast summary, archives duplicates and low-signal items, preserves pinned exact facts, and keeps richer context in the AI Vault
• The advanced memory manager lets you create, edit, archive, and pin memories and set their importance and sensitivity

Memory and access

• Project memory is loaded for project admins; record memory requires current access to the record
• Your personal memory is scoped to your account. Project and record memories are separate from that private store
• Project API tokens cannot directly read or manage AI memory, even when AI writes are enabled
