Alerts & notifications

The layers of staying informed

Picrowd surfaces changes in a few complementary ways: quiet in-app signals for everyday awareness, alerts you subscribe to on specific records, device notifications you tune per event, and channel alerts that push out to the tools you already watch.

In-app signals

• Unread dots on records, projects, Board, and Whiteboard
• The urgent banner listing pings due within your threshold
• Mentions when someone tags you in a note or message
• The bell, with an activity feed and unread count
• AI nudges on the pill when an automation has something for you

Device notifications

Settings → Notifications has two channels: the in-app activity badge and notifications on your browser, desktop, or phone. Each has its own switches for records, notes and files, members and projects, Board activity, Whiteboard comments, Picrowd AI, and pings. The bell also has a quick toggle for AI nudges on your device.

Record and project alerts

• Subscribe to a record to hear about new notes and changes
• Watch specific fields so you are alerted only when they change
• Manage your own subscriptions per record; they are quiet by default

Channel alerts

• Record email alerts
• Slack, Discord, and Telegram messages through their alert plugins, delivered to an incoming webhook you set up in that tool

Daily digest and weekly report

The Daily Digest plugin sends one morning summary per project, covering new records, new notes, field changes, what is due today, and overdue follow-ups, to email or a chat channel, and quietly skips days with nothing to report. AI Weekly does the same once a week with a report written by Picrowd AI.

Keeping it calm

• Mute projects you do not need pings from
• Choose which fields trigger record alerts instead of everything
• Turn off the event types you never act on in Settings → Notifications
• Let the digest replace a stream of individual messages
