Calendar

Calendar shows selected dated fields of a project by day, week, month, or year. Create pings by clicking a slot, drag editable pings to reschedule, and choose how events are colored.

What shows up

Calendar can show Ping columns, Last Active, Date/time (the record’s last update), and text columns containing a valid date beginning with YYYY-MM-DD. Choose which date columns to show in Views & filters; when Ping columns exist, they are shown by default. Timed events sit in their slot and date-only events sit in the all-day row. Overlapping events share the day in lanes, a line marks the current time, and overdue pings get a dot. A timed ping without a length is drawn as 30 minutes; a date-only ping without a length occupies one day.

Moving around

  • Switch between Day, Week, Month, and Year with the segmented control
  • Use the previous and next arrows, or Today to jump back
  • Right-click a day for Create ping here, Open day, Today, and Views & filters
  • Click an event for its details, Open record, and Manage pings

Creating pings from the calendar

Click an empty day, or an empty 30-minute slot in Day or Week, to create pings. Pick the Ping column, find one or several records, and set the date, time, a name such as “Milestone” or “Deadline”, and a length. One click can put the same ping on every record you selected.

Rescheduling

Drag an editable ping to another day or slot. An outline shows where it will land and a ghost card follows the pointer; press Escape to cancel. The length is preserved, and a ping with AI commands keeps them. Other dated fields are not rescheduled by dragging. On touch devices use Manage pings.

Views & filters

All of this is saved with the active saved view, so a “This month by owner” view keeps its calendar setup for everyone who opens it.

  • Dates & time: the timezone the calendar is shown in
  • Ping status: all, upcoming, or overdue
  • Date columns: which dated fields become events
  • Group by and group colors: color events by the value of a column
  • Color codes: rules such as “Filter is Hot → red”; the first matching rule wins
  • Filter records: narrow the calendar to a subset of rows

Good calendar habits

  • Give pings names when the record title would not explain the event
  • Use one color-code rule set per view instead of many overlapping rules
  • Keep the overdue filter as a saved view for weekly clean-up
