Keyboard shortcuts

How shortcuts work

Picrowd has keyboard shortcuts on every work surface. They are listed below, one table per workspace.

Shortcuts never fire while you are typing in a field; click into the table, canvas, or a row first. On a Mac, use Cmd wherever Ctrl is shown.

Table

Shortcut / What it does

↑ / ↓ / Move between rows (opens the row preview)

Enter / Open the focused row

Shift + Enter or Shift + E / Expand the focused record to the full view

Space / Select or deselect the focused row

Shift + ↑ / ↓ / Extend a multi-row selection

Cmd / Ctrl + click / Add or remove one row in the selection

Shift + click / Select a range of rows

Shift + N, =, or + / Add a new row in the current group

/ or \ / Jump to the search box

Any letter / Start typing to search records

Tab / Shift + Tab / Move to the next / previous cell while editing

Shift + F10 or the Menu key / Open the row menu

Ctrl / Cmd + Z / Undo the last record change

Esc / Close the expanded record, then the preview, then clear selection

Cards (Kanban)

Cards are arranged by drag and drop: move a card between columns to change its status, or reorder it within a column. The keyboard can do the same.

Shortcut / What it does

Enter / Open the focused card

Shift + Enter / Expand the card to the full record view

Space / Pick up the card; move it with the arrow keys and press Space again to drop it

Shift + F10 or the Menu key / Open the card menu

Calendar and Timelines

Shortcut / What it does

Esc / Close event details, cancel a drag, or clear the timeline selection

Shift + F10 or the Menu key / Open the menu of the focused event or row

← / → on a focused timeline bar / Nudge the ping by 15 minutes (timed) or one day

Cmd / Ctrl + scroll / Zoom the timeline around the cursor

← / → on the label divider / Resize the label column by 20px

Home / End on the label divider / Narrowest / widest label column

Shift + click or Cmd / Ctrl + click / Select several timeline rows

Whiteboard

M / Select tool

Esc / Deselect and return to the Select tool

- / Zoom out

0 or Z / Reset and center the view

Delete / Backspace / Delete the selected item or comment

Enter / Open the selected item (record or project card)

Arrow keys / Nudge the selected item by 1px (Shift = 10px)

Ctrl / Cmd + C / Copy the selected items

Ctrl / Cmd + V / Paste items, or paste images, files, or links from the clipboard

Ctrl / Cmd + Z / Undo

Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + Z (or Ctrl / Cmd + Y) / Redo

Ctrl / Cmd + Enter / Finish editing a text box

Hold Space / X-ray: peek under overlapping items

Hold Ctrl / Cmd + drag / Marquee-select items

Hold Shift while dragging / Snap to guides; while rotating, snap to 15° steps

Notes, replies & the message Board

Shortcut / What it does

Enter / Send the note, reply, or message

Shift + Enter (or Ctrl / Cmd + Enter) / Insert a line break instead of sending

^ / Reference a project

^^ / Reference a record

@ / Mention a person

# / Add a hashtag

/ / Insert an AI tool or command

↑ / ↓ in the popup / Move through autocomplete suggestions

Tab or Enter in the popup / Insert the highlighted suggestion

Esc in the popup / Dismiss the autocomplete popup

← / → in the image viewer / Previous / next image

Ctrl / Cmd + Z / Undo the last note or formatting change

Picrowd AI

The Picrowd AI pill, workspace, and chat share the same composer as notes, so the same send and autocomplete shortcuts apply.

` (backquote) / Open or close the AI pill from any workspace

Enter / Send your message to Picrowd AI

Shift + Enter / New line without sending

^, ^^, @, #, / / Reference a project, a record, a person, a hashtag, or a tool

↑ / ↓, Tab / Enter, Esc / Move through, insert, or dismiss autocomplete suggestions

Esc / Close the AI pill

Image editor

Shortcut / What it does

M, P, A, R, O, T, B, C / Switch between the editing tools

Enter / Apply the crop

Delete / Remove the selected annotation

Ctrl / Cmd + Z / Undo

Ctrl / Cmd + S / Save the image

Desktop app

Desktop shortcuts can be rebound in Settings → Desktop app.
