Saved views
Views save useful ways of looking at the same records without duplicating the project. They are shared presets; each person chooses which one is active.
What views are for
A view is a saved way to look at records. It can narrow the project to a useful slice of work without creating another project or copying rows.
What a view remembers
- The status filter and selected tags
- Sorting and the group-by column, including which groups are collapsed and which subgroup is pinned
- Visible, hidden, and pinned columns, their order and widths
- Row appearance: Compact, Normal, or Enriched
- Which sections are open in the record card
- The Calendar and Timelines configuration: view, date columns, grouping, colors, label column, and scale
Shared presets, personal choice
Views belong to the project, so everyone sees the same list. Which view is active is personal: two people can be in different views of the same project at the same time. Save a new view, update the current one, rename, or delete from the Views menu in the toolbar.
Good view patterns
- All records: the main power-user view
- Active now: rows that need attention today
- Waiting: rows blocked by another person or event
- Review: a cleaner view for sharing or handoff
- This month: a Calendar view grouped by owner
- Archive or done: completed rows kept out of the way
When to create a view
Create a view when people keep rebuilding the same filter, grouping, or field layout. Do not create a new view for every small preference. The goal is shared clarity.
